On this page:
The Publisher Collections Insights dashboard provides revenue and usage-based metrics for your collection across institutions, communities, and countries. All metrics reflect titles in your collection except where indicated (ex. top disciplines/subjects on JSTOR overall).
To access the dashboard:
- Log into JSTOR Admin with a personal account that has administrative permissions.
- If you haven't accessed publisher usage reports before, you will need to create a personal JSTOR account and contact JSTOR Support to have administrative privileges added to your account.
- Select Publisher Collections Insights in the sidebar.
Notes:
- Usage metrics are based on the number of Item Requests, such as page views and downloads, a COUNTER standard. Visit the COUNTER website to learn more.
- An individual user may have access to JSTOR through multiple institutions simultaneously. In these cases, item requests by that user are attributed to each institution they’re affiliated with, which is reflected in your institutional usage metrics. For example: An institution that hasn’t purchased your collection may show item requests for your titles due to usage by one or more users affiliated with both it and another institution that has purchased your collection.

Filtering the dashboard
There are two ways to filter the metrics displayed on the dashboard. The recommended method is to use the following Dashboard and Usage filters:
-
Date range - Filters all metrics, revenue and usage-based, to the selected date range.
- Select either the From or To fields to specify a date range using a calendar date picker. Both a start and end date are required.
- Alternatively, select the calendar icon to choose from a list of preset date ranges including “All”, “Last __ days/months”, “This year”, etc.
- The default date range, if no range is selected, is Last 90 days.
- Institution - Filters all metrics, revenue and usage-based, to the selected institution.
- Country - Filters all metrics, revenue and usage-based, to the selected country.
-
Content access - Filters usage metrics by the following title access types:
- Controlled - Titles available with a license.
- Open - Titles freely available through Open Access.
- Title - Filters usage metrics to a specific title in your collection. Use the typeahead search to filter the list of titles and/or search for specific titles.
- Discipline - Filters usage metrics to titles in your collection belonging to the selected JSTOR discipline.
- BISAC subject - Filters usage metrics to titles in your collection belonging to the selected Book Industry Standards and Communications (BISAC) subject.
You can also filter some parts of the dashboard by selecting specific categories or data points displayed in a table or graph. For example, selecting a country name displayed in one graph will filter usage data, such as item requests and institutions, to the selected country where applicable.
With either filtering method, your applied filters will appear along the top of the dashboard. You can clear individual filters by selecting the X following the filter name or choose Reset all to default to clear all applied filters.
